Education is one of the core aspects of our mission. We believe that a deep understanding of Gibraltar’s history helps to nurture respect, pride, and a lasting commitment to its preservation. That’s why we support and promote a wide range of educational initiatives both in Gibraltar and the United Kingdom.
Supporting students
We are proud to provide annual bursaries to postgraduate students at the University of Gibraltar whose work explores Gibraltar’s rich heritage. These awards not only support academic research but help cultivate the next generation of historians and heritage professionals.
Beyond this, we sponsor prizes and awards for school students, encouraging young people to explore Gibraltar’s past through creative and academic expression. Our School History Shields and Awards, as well as the Christmas Card Competition, engage pupils from across Gibraltar.

Our commitment to education extends beyond the Rock. Through a growing programme of talks, seminars, and panel sessions, we bring Gibraltar’s story to a wider audience across the UK. Events like our annual seminar, Gosport Heritage Open Day, and the Chalke Valley History Festival offer accessible, engaging opportunities for the public to learn more about Gibraltar’s people, culture, and historical importance.
We also collaborate with UK schools and museums to develop shared projects and themed talks and to form connections between Gibraltar and British institutions with deep historical ties to the area.
